the DOCTORS have made their way back to the cookie sheets again...

This year I opted for melted colored chocolate (hardens faster and stacks better than frosting) and gave surgical masks as well as stethescopes. Last year Julie and I made them wear scrubs and masks :)

SNOW is here!

Mia couldn't wait another minute to get outside! She practically beat the bell off the string so I would take her outside after watching the snow falling through the window. She ran around in circles for about ten minutes and had her head shoved into the snow the entire time...nice! But, at least Mia and I are excited to have some snow here finally :) I love the snow (especially when it doesn't interfere with my normal day routines...)

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!

We've decided to save our stamps and do a blog christmas card this year.

Thank you everyone for a fabulous year together. We love all of our family and friends and couldn't have gotten through the year without you!

All our love,
The Kistlers
Brian, Christina & mia

paging Dr Mia!

DR MIA PLEASE REPORT TO SURGERY! :) thanks for halloween super sale (after the celebrations of course) we found mia her very own doctor scrubs, the first outfit of hers that Brian actually LOVED! He even admitted it! YES!!

Happy CHANUKAH!

Thanks again for showing us how to celebrate Chanukah, Wilkofsky Family! We had a wonderful time, delish latkes and chicken cutlets (thanks to the fab Grandma Emmy!!) and I brought along my best attempt at "dreidel pops"!

Santa Babies

Just a funny little afternoon indoors with the kidlets, thought they might find our santa hats funny...and they did! hilarious giggles filled the room as I snapped happily away

Oh, Christmas TREE!

Oh what a funny Christmas Tree adventure story to tell from this year...I convinced Brian to go out to a new cut-your-own christmas tree farm (locally owned) about an hours drive away in the cold weather. But, we forgot to go prepared, i.e. snow, instead we were each in sweatshirts and had wimpy gloves...oops! At least Mia had her furry pink coat, she actually stayed inside my sweatshirt the whole time which in turn kept me warmer, phew! But after trekking out on the wagon ride to find the perfect tree, we cut it down and carried it back to the road. And we froze our butts off in the meantime but it was a hoot!
p.s. we still keep finding mia sitting under the christmas tree "standing guard" we say, maybe she doesn't know how this whole santa bringing the presents thing works...

a night out on the town...

We had the privilage of attending the Ortho Gala again this year (last year I went with friends while BK was on call-) and had a wonderful night! It was fun to get dressed up, Brian even got to wear his "mobster" trench coat as we call it, and its always fun to have a nice dinner out with dancing, music and friends.

Happy Thanksgiving NY!

Happy Thanksgiving to all! Our "transplant thanksgiving" get together was a yummy success! We had friends, food, laughter, more food, and funny hats! (and some of us needed naps...yes BK did too!)

the TURKEY appetizer project...

For our friend group get together to celebrate Thanksgiving, I was in charge of the appetizers. I came across some very cute and funny ideas to display tasty snacks but this was the winner. The only sad part was that no one nibbled on his feathers :( guess he looked too tasty to eat...?

Mia Turns 2!

Mia enjoyed her 2nd birthday, possibly more than the first even! First, she sang happy birthday to herself :) then had a delicious cheeseburger for dinner and topped it off with doggy cake and presents. Her BFF Heidi made her the doggy cake and spoiled her with toys (with loud squeakers I might add..) but Mia loved every second! Happy Birthday Mia!

R O B O T P O P S !

My friend, Kim, had a genius idea for her son's first birthday party with a robot theme. And together we created these genius robotic creations! :) (most of the design was Kim's part!)

what do YOU think?

I made this applique for a Babyhoot. onesie thinking of an apple...but does this look like an APPLE or a PUMPKIN...?? Tell me what you think!

Happy Birthday OLLIE!

Last weekend I attended an awesome ROBOT PARTY for Olivers first birthday! It was very extravagant and fun nonetheless. We had robot cake (snickerdoodle flavored), tons of delish food and robot cupcake pops to take home.

Funny Pumpkins

I attempted to re-create a wonderful childhood memory and this is what spit out. :) When I was a kid, my Grandpa Goddard's friend, Kenny Vesper, made me and my siblings these beautiful candy pumpkins. I remember large tootsie rolls as mouths and licorice hair. I couldn't find anyone else who made these or even anything similar, but I did my best...

Super Kids Halloween Party

Super Seth (superman) and Super Emma (wonderwoman) attended a kid halloween party with all their friends, it was S U P E R! :) the cookies and sugarfree/egg free squash cupcakes were a big hit!! Their friends dressed as; monkeys, yoda, bumblebee, mummy, giraffe, frankenstein and my favorite homemade costume, complete with picked out afro hair, a harlem globetrotter!! too cute for words, too bad I couldn't catch a photo, my hands were busy...

the stroller brigade takes the zoo

The stroller brigade, i.e. our new group of baby friends, took on the zoo one sunny afternoon. We found the quacking ducks especially funny as well as the swinging monkeys that we had never seen before. :) The kids know their animals and animal sounds so well that seth was requesting to visit the elephants (via his elephant blowing noises) the moment we got to the parking lot at the zoo!

taking the kids to the pumpkin patch

Wow! What a fun, colorful outing! The pumpkin patch served as hands on learning and so much fun for seth and emma. Emma especially loved bouncing up and down on the pumpkins and rolling them down the hill, seth just wanted to pick them all up (even the big ones) and when he tried sisters fun bouncing idea we squished one and ended up with pumpkin booty, what fun! :)

the AWESOME pumpkin :)

this was my super cool find, lumpy bumpy one-of-a-kind pumpkin I found at the pumpkin patch...sadly it died before halloween because chubby squirrel is a pain in my butt!

pumpkin time

After some mishaps, grrr, from irritating have-it-out-for-me squirrels, we got new pumpkins and got them carved in time for Halloween. The previous pumpkins are on the back porch still with chunks and teeth marks in them and or half of the pumpkin shredded to pieces and or missing. THANKS A LOT!!
Mia usually does not enjoy getting into the pumpkin but she was more than willing this year as long as she got to taste her way through the photos :)
